COURSE OVERVIEW
MSCPA – Diploma in Editing (DED) – One-Year Program is a two-semester, full-time, non-degree programme based in a conservatory. This means that students will work at a faster pace and with a greater degree of commitment as they acquire new skills and create a body of work.
The curriculum is structured in such a way that students are immersed in all facets of the discipline. MSCPA provides a creative environment in which students are challenged, inspired, and developed through an intensive curriculum. Whether our editing students are new to the industry or are seasoned professionals looking to brush up on their skills, our course will push them to develop new mastery by the end of the year.
This program covers all aspects of technical and creative editing skills vital to working in a variety of genres, ranging from the editing of your own short-film to documentary, multi-camera concert and comedy. This course aims to strengthen the student’s skills and develop critical thinking in accordance with artistic vision.
WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE?
The course offers multidimensional opportunities to practice the art and craft of editing and developing their own distinctive style. Students learn and practice on non-linear systems such as AVID and FCP, for their assignments as well as coordinated projects. Apart from regular classroom learning, the department organises masterlasses conducted by renowned & award-winning editors in the film industry.
Our Editing Department is equipped with state of the art infrastructure and has one of the top most post-production digital machines for compositing / special effect and HD/4K output compatibility.
INDUSTRY EXPOSURE
MSCPA is a place where classes are taught by award-winning industry professionals, in a real-world environment with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Regular master classes and case studies with Industry veterans are the main highlight of the institute’s academic structure. MSCPA course curriculum undergoes a regular upgradation keeping it par with technological advancement and latest trends in the Industry.
Through internship programmes, students will gain experience working on ‘Real Time Projects’. Students have the opportunity to work on a variety of ‘Ongoing Projects’. Thus, by exposing students to real-world production scenarios and workflows, they will be better prepared to develop a high-quality portfolio and advance in their careers.

COURSE WORKFLOW
Pre Production
Story Ideation, Storyboarding , Human Anatomy Study , Landscaping , Perspective Drawing, Asset designing - all these are a very important element of game development and animation film making ,hence students are introduced to classical hand-drawing techniques. Light-box, peg punching facilities are available in the lab. Also, the experimental animation and stop motion animation techniques are covered in our curriculum. The required support for these projects are also provided from the lab.
Production and Post Production
Animation and visual effects software equipped Labs allows students to do production and post-production work for their animation films and game assets including character modeling, texturing, animating, rendering, lighting, compositing and Editing for 3D animation and gaming production.
Technical Lab Assistance
All the labs are full time assisted by Technical Lab Assistant for technical and software support. Students are provided a minimum 6 hours of daily practice time in technical labs , All the lectures are conducted at 1:1 students to workstation ratio.
