PEDAGOGY
Film Education’s approach to learning about film is that when it’s properly used in the classroom, film is a powerful educational tool that can engage and enrich young people’s learning and lives. The value of the cinematic experience is also central to our approach, which is why we try to forge links between school and cinema.
Our curriculum and teaching methodologies are based on kinesthetics, which means students are encouraged to learn by doing. While we focus on market-oriented skill development, critical-thinking is equally emphasized because it is a requisite for quality filmmaking.
The faculty members act as facilitators who impart knowledge and nudge students to think critically about filmmaking within wider social, political, and cultural contexts and its role in shaping mainstream and alternative discourses on society, culture and identity. Besides, hands-on technical training by industry experts allow students to gain technological understanding required for lighting, camerawork, design, sound, special effects, post-production processes, and more.
MSCPA will use a variety of learning elements to ensure that the curriculum is both broad and deep to keep students aware of global technological advancements, and new learning components. The programmes will be taught utilising a three-pronged approach that emphasises on Knowledge, Skills, and Application.
